CASE STUDY: Solving the Multi-Venue Challenge in China Town
Connie Lee has been at the helm of two of Perth’s most beloved dining spots, Hawkers Cuisine and Old Lane Street Eats for many years.
Located in the heart of Perth’s Chinatown, and known for their authentic and eclectic offerings of Asian street food, both venues provide for a diverse custome base ranging from locals looking for nostalgic flavours, to tourists seeking an authentic taste of Asia. Managing neighbouring venues where customers can order from both menus demands a flexible and efficient Point of Sale (POS) system - and that’s exactly where Triniteq stepped in.
The Problem
Connie Lee, the owner, had been using Lightspeed as their POS system, however the rigid nature of Lightspeed posed significant challenges. The system didn’t accommodate their unique service model where customers often order from both restaurant menus but want a seamless payment experience.
This setup led to issues like missed payments, manual errors, and complicated transactions. The staff had to transfer orders between two separate POS systems, which often resulted in mistakes, particularly during peak hours. The complexity of managing two menus through two systems created inefficiencies and stress, leaving Connie frustrated knowing that payments were being missed, and searching for a more flexible solution.
The Solution
Connie was introduced to Triniteq’s PowerEPOS through a recommendation from a fellow restaurateur. Recognising the need for a system that could handle the intricacies of her dual-restaurant setup, Connie reached out to Triniteq.
After discussing her specific needs, and providing the Triniteq team with a ‘mud map’ of how the system needs to be set up, the Triniteq team got to work. They developed a customised solution that merged the two restaurant operations into one seamless POS system.
PowerEPOS was tailored to handle orders from both Hawkers Cuisine and Old Lane, ensuring that the kitchen received clear and accurate instructions without the need for manual transfers and in-person communication.
Triniteq’s tech team worked closely with Connie to map out the exact flow of operations, ensuring that the POS system was fully aligned with her business processes. Triniteq also introduced the Insights reporting tool, allowing Connie and her bookkeeper to generate detailed, customised reports that simplified accounting and financial management.
I was initially sceptical about switching our POS system because I thought it would be too complicated. However, after speaking with a colleague who recommended Triniteq, I decided to give it a try. From the start, the team at Triniteq, especially Neskeen and Bryce, impressed me with their
willingness to customise the system to fit our complex needs. They took the time to understand our requirements and set up the POS to
seamlessly integrate our two venues. The demo was spot-on, addressing all our specific needs and the result was a POS system that works perfectly for us, both on the front end for customers, and in the kitchen.Triniteq’s flexibility and attention to detail made the transition smooth and hassle free. We now have a unified system that handles all transactions across both venues efficiently, without the previous headaches of managing multiple POS systems. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome!”

The Result
The implementation of Triniteq’s PowerEPOS transformed the way Hawkers Cuisine and Old Lane operated. The new system eliminated the headaches associated with Lightspeed, providing a fully integrated solution that allowed Connie’s team to manage orders and payments effortlessly.
The kitchen staff now receive clear and accurate orders straight from the POS, and customers experience a seamless payment process, regardless of which menu they order from. The flexibility of PowerEPOS meant that Connie no longer had to worry about missed payments or manual errors, even during the busiest times.
The Insights tool further enhanced operational efficiency by providing easy access to the financial data needed for smooth business management.
Takeaways
Triniteq’s PowerEPOS proved to be the perfect solution for the complex needs of Hawkers Cuisine and Old Lane. By understanding Connie’s business model and tailoring the POS system accordingly, Triniteq provided a flexible, user-friendly solution that significantly
improved operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Connie now enjoys peace of mind, knowing that her POS system is as dynamic and adaptable as her restaurants.
